JPEG, PNG or WebP. Up to 50 images, 50 MB each, up to 40 megapixels.

Files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

How to convert images

  1. Add images

Drop or choose up to 50 still JPEG, PNG or WebP files. Anything that can’t be used is listed with the reason.

  2. Pick a format

Choose JPEG, PNG or WebP for the whole batch, plus quality or background color where they apply.

  3. Convert and download

Press Convert, check formats and sizes, then download files one by one or as a single ZIP.

Formats, transparency and quality

Images keep their width, height and the way they display. File sizes can go up or down depending on the image and the format you choose.

WebPYes: KeptQuality setting applies. Works in every current browser, including Safari on iPhone and iPad.Websites, photos and graphics
  • Already in that format. Files that are already in the format you chose aren’t processed. They’re marked “Already in this format” and download unchanged.
  • Quality. JPEG and WebP use lossy compression: higher quality keeps more detail and makes a larger file. High quality (85%) is the default.

What happens to your files

Images are converted by code running in your browser tab and are not uploaded. Your original files are never changed. Results stay in memory until you remove them or close the page. See Privacy.

What changes in converted files

  • EXIF metadata, including camera details and GPS location, is not kept. A file already in the chosen format is kept unchanged, with its metadata.
  • Photo orientation is applied to the pixels.
  • Colors are converted to sRGB.
  • Animated PNG and WebP files are not converted.

Troubleshooting

A file was rejected

The reason is shown in the list. Only still JPEG, PNG and WebP images work: GIF, HEIC, AVIF, BMP, TIFF, SVG, PDF and animated images are not supported. Damaged files and files over the limits are also rejected.

The WebP option is turned off

WebP works in every current browser, including Safari on iPhone and iPad. The option is only turned off in very old browsers without WebAssembly. Choose JPEG or PNG instead.

The converted file is bigger

That’s normal for some conversions, for example a photo saved as PNG. To make files smaller, use the Image Compressor.

An image failed with a memory message

Your device ran out of memory. Close other tabs or convert the image on its own, then press Retry.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. They are converted in your browser. The site only delivers the page and its code.

Why is my transparent image white as JPEG?

JPEG can’t store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background color in Settings. Choose PNG or WebP to keep transparency.

Can I convert HEIC, AVIF or GIF?

For HEIC and HEIF photos, such as iPhone photos, use HEIC to JPG. AVIF and GIF aren’t supported yet: this converter takes still JPEG, PNG and WebP images.

Can I resize while converting?

Not here: converted images keep their dimensions. The Image Compressor can change format and limit size together.

Do I need an account?

No. The tool is free and needs no sign-in.
