How to organize PDF pages
Choose a PDF
Drop or choose one PDF file. Its pages appear as cards.
Arrange, rotate or remove pages
Drag a card by its handle, or use Move earlier and Move later. Rotate left or right, or remove a page. Select several pages to rotate or remove them together.
Save and download
Press Save PDF, rename the file if you like, then download it.
Working with pages
Each card shows the page’s original page number, so you can tell which page it is after moving it. The order of the cards in the grid is the order of the saved PDF.
- Rotation. Pages turn in 90° steps. The turn is added to the page’s existing rotation, so a page already turned 90° that you rotate right once more ends up at 180°.
- Selecting pages. Tick pages, or click a thumbnail, to select them. Use Select all and Clear selection. Selections stay with the pages when you reorder. Rotating or removing a selection counts as one step.
- Undo and Redo. Undo and Redo cover moves, rotations and removals, for the last 100 steps. Reset changes returns to the original order. Removing pages needs no confirmation because Undo is always there.
- At least one page. A PDF needs at least one page. If every page is removed, Save is disabled until you undo or reset.
What is kept and what may be lost
The saved file is a new PDF built from the original pages. Thumbnails are small previews only; they are not what is saved. The original file is never changed.
| Item | In the saved file | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Yes: Copied, not redrawn | Pages are copied from the original, not turned into pictures. Text stays selectable and searchable, and vector graphics stay sharp. | |
| Yes: As shown in the grid | The order of the cards is the order of the saved PDF. Removed pages are left out. | |
| Yes: Kept | Page sizes stay as they are. Rotation is added to each page’s existing rotation. | |
| No: May not be preserved | Interactive fields may stop working. | |
| No: May not be preserved | The outline of the original may be missing. | |
| No: May not be preserved | Files embedded in the PDF may be missing. | |
| No: May not be preserved | Document-level details such as title and author may not carry over. | |
| No: Not valid | Saving changes the document, so a digital signature in the original will not be valid in the saved file. |
- Size is not guaranteed. The saved file is not guaranteed to be smaller than the original, even if you removed pages. Organizing is not compression.
- Out of date results. If you change the pages after saving, the saved result is marked “Out of date”. Save again to get a new file. Renaming the file does not make it out of date.
- Signed PDFs. If the original is digitally signed, the signature will not be valid in the saved file. Keep the original if you need the signature.
- Not included. Adding pages from other files, editing text, cropping pages, compression, signatures and passwords are not part of this tool. To combine files first, use Merge PDF. To extract a few pages, use Split PDF.
Limits
- 100 MB
- 2,000
You can organize one PDF at a time. These are application limits. Devices with little memory, especially phones, may struggle with very long documents.
What happens to your file
The PDF is processed in your browser tab and is not uploaded. Pages are saved by code running in a background Web Worker, and previews are drawn by PDF.js, which is served from this site. Your original file is never changed. See Privacy.
Protected and damaged PDFs
- Password-protected and encrypted PDFs are rejected.
- This includes PDFs that open without a password but have restrictions or encryption.
- The tool does not remove or bypass passwords.
- Damaged files and files that are not PDFs are rejected. A file is checked by reading it, not by its extension.
Troubleshooting
A file was rejected as password-protected
Remove the protection in an app you trust that has the password, save the PDF, then add it again. This tool does not remove passwords.
A thumbnail is blank or looks different
Thumbnails are previews drawn by the browser, and they can differ from the page. The saved file uses the original page content, not the thumbnail.
I removed the wrong page
Use Undo to bring it back, or Reset changes to return to the original order and all pages.
Save is disabled
A PDF needs at least one page. If every page has been removed, undo the removal or reset your changes.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. The PDF is organized in your browser. The site only delivers the page and its code.
Does organizing reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied from the original, not drawn again as pictures, so text and vector graphics keep their quality.
Can I add pages from another PDF?
Not in this tool. Combine the files first with Merge PDF, then organize the result.
Do I need an account?
No. The tool is free and needs no sign-in.
