How to resize images
Add images
Drop or choose up to 50 still JPEG, PNG or WebP files. Each one shows its size and the size it will become.
Choose how to resize
Exact size, fit within a box, or a percentage. Keep the original format or pick another.
Resize and download
Press Resize, then download files one by one or as a single ZIP. File names include the new size.
Resize modes
Every size is worked out from the original image and rounded to whole pixels. When images in a batch have different shapes, Fit within is selected so none of them is stretched.
| Mode | Keeps shape | Can enlarge | Use it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yes: With “Keep aspect ratio” on; turn it off to stretch | Yes: Yes | A precise width and height, e.g. 1200 × 630 | |
| Yes: Always; nothing is cropped or padded | No: Only if you allow it | Batches of different shapes, size limits | |
| Yes: Always | Yes: Above 100% | Making everything half or double the size |
- Enlarging. Making an image bigger can’t restore detail that isn’t there, so enlarged images may look soft.
- Format and transparency. Images keep their format unless you choose another. Saving as JPEG fills transparent areas with your background color; PNG and WebP keep transparency.
Limits
These apply to the images you add and to the resized result.
- 50
- 50 MB
- 40 MP
- 16,384 px
What happens to your files
Images are resized by code running in your browser tab and are not uploaded. Your original files are never changed. Results stay in memory until you remove them or close the page. See Privacy.
What changes in resized files
- EXIF metadata, including camera details and GPS location, is not kept.
- Photo orientation is applied to the pixels.
- Colors are converted to sRGB.
- An image whose size and format wouldn’t change is kept as it is, including its metadata.
Troubleshooting
A file was rejected
The reason is shown in the list. Only still JPEG, PNG and WebP images work; animated images, other formats, damaged files and files over the limits are not supported.
The Resize button is disabled
The reason is shown next to it: usually a size is missing, or exact size needs your confirmation to stretch images of different shapes.
An image is too large at this size
The result must stay within the limits above. Choose a smaller size or percentage.
The resized file is bigger
Enlarged images and PNG output can be large. To make files smaller, use the Image Compressor.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. They are resized in your browser. The site only delivers the page and its code.
Can I crop or add padding?
Not in this tool. Resizing never crops or pads; Fit within keeps each image’s shape.
Does it change DPI or print size?
No. Only the pixel width and height change.
Do I need an account?
No. The tool is free and needs no sign-in.
