How to watermark images

  1. Add images

Drop or choose up to 50 still JPEG, PNG or WebP files. A live preview shows the selected image.

  2. Set up the watermark

Type text or add a logo, then set opacity, rotation and where it goes. Switch between images to check each one.

  3. Apply and download

Press Apply watermark, then download files one by one or as a single ZIP.

Text or logo

One mode is active at a time. Both modes share opacity (5–100%) and rotation (−180° to 180°). Sizes are a percentage of each image’s width, so portrait and landscape images in a batch get a consistently sized watermark.

  • Fonts. Fonts are taken from your device, so the exact typeface can vary slightly between devices. The optional outline is black or white, chosen automatically from the text color, to keep text readable.
  • Logo files. SVG and animated images are not supported as logos. You can replace or remove the logo at any time.

Placement

  • Single watermark. Choose one of nine positions in a 3 × 3 grid and a margin of 0–20% of the image’s shorter side. There is no freehand dragging. The watermark, including its rotated corners, is kept inside the image: if long text, a large size, a big margin or rotation would push it outside, it is drawn smaller on that image and the tool says which images were affected.
  • Repeat across the image. The mark is repeated in a staggered diagonal pattern, with horizontal and vertical spacing set as a percentage of image width. Turning tiling on with no rotation sets rotation to −30°. Marks are clipped at the image edges. There are at most 400 marks per image; beyond that the spacing is widened automatically and the tool says so.

What happens to your files

Watermarks are drawn by code running in your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded. Your original files are never changed. Nothing is processed until you press Apply watermark, and results stay in memory until you remove them or close the page. See Privacy.

What changes in watermarked files

  • Exports are made from the full-resolution originals, not the preview.
  • Photo orientation (EXIF) is applied first, so placement matches how the photo is displayed.
  • EXIF metadata, including camera details and GPS location, is not kept.
  • Each image keeps its format unless you choose JPEG, PNG or WebP. Quality applies to JPEG and WebP; PNG is lossless.
  • For JPEG output, transparent areas are filled with your background color before the watermark is drawn.
  • Files are named like photo-watermarked.jpg; duplicates get “ (2)”.

Troubleshooting

A file was rejected

The reason is shown in the list. Animated PNG and WebP, GIF, HEIC, SVG, damaged files and files over the limits are not supported.

Results say “Out of date”

You changed a setting after applying the watermark. Press Apply watermark again to update the results.

The watermark is smaller than I set

A single watermark is kept inside the image. When it would not fit, it is drawn smaller on that image and the tool lists the images affected. Try less text, a smaller size, a smaller margin or less rotation.

The spacing changed on its own

Repeated watermarks are limited to 400 per image. If your spacing would exceed that, it is widened automatically and the tool says so.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. They are watermarked in your browser. The site only delivers the page and its code.

Does a watermark stop people copying my images?

No. A visible watermark discourages casual reuse and shows ownership, but it does not prevent copying, cropping or removal, for example with editing tools.

Can it add invisible watermarks or remove one?

No. This tool only adds visible text or logo watermarks.

Can I resize or crop at the same time?

Not in this tool. Use the Image Resizer or the Image Cropper, then add the watermark.

Can I use both text and a logo?

Not at once. One mode is active at a time.

Do I need an account?

No. The tool is free and needs no sign-in.
